chikan work on my baby frock

Hi all,
I had an organza shawl of an old salwar and i kept that to use when i learn stitching....and now the time came, i started going for stitching classes and stitched simple salwar bottoms using machine...sharing this with little pride..i really wanted to learn stitching for past few years..but now only i got a chance..

I thought to make a frock for my baby and the material was plain pink organza material...so i did chikan work design which i saw during a blog visit.here is the link for that blog ...

Pls do tell me your suggestions

Lesson 5

Here is the link for lesson 5 ...
Blanket stitch
see the inner part is covered with back stitch and there are a few running stitches too...

Interlaced running stitch and double back stitch

I love the wavy nature that interlaced running sticth gives...the triangle is stitched with double back stitch and the base of triangle is stitched with back stitch....

By the way Anita already posted lesson 7...i am little bit behind...i have to finish lesson 6 and 7 soon...

i will catch u all soon...meanwhile please dont hesitate to put ur valuable suggestions....

Lesson4

 Hi all,,

I am sorry to post my chikan work lessons late..actually i completed those on time but i was busy with another stitching kit...so it did take much time to post...i will post the pictures of stitching kit that i am doing right now....

so have a look at these.....

Lesson 4: whipped back stitch
Detached chain

At first i understood to stitch like this and Anita corrected me with lots of patience....
She corrected like this "According to your diagram- First chain is correct. In second chain A,B are right,C of second chain can be the same as first chain or between C and D in your image. But the end point 'D' has to be the same for both the chains or closer to each other ie either both the chains must share 'D' or the end point of the second chain has to be closer to 'D' of first chain.."

and here is the corrected pic....

Roman stitch

see there is also mistake...Anita is a good teacher ..she found my mistake very easily...

There should be only one roman stitch attached to the detached chain stitch.
In this image there are two or three Roman stitch.

so i just had to stitch one long straight stitch and a single cross stitch forming a single roman stitch...
so the lesson 4 is completed....

chain stitch as a filling stitch: two variations

Chain stitch can be used as an outline stitch and as a filling stitch..it is very easy to do and it is a very beautiful stitch....

You can see how to do chain stitch as a filling stitch in this site.  I saw a wonderful variation of chain stitch used as a filling stitch in deepa's blog. I tried that one....

Upper side of leaf is filled with normal chain stitch and the lower side is filled with interlaced chain stitch or honeycomb chain stitch. Both are good for filling and both technique gives different appearance. Thanks Deepa for teaching a new filling technique with a familiar beautiful stitch....

I used whipped running stitch and couching for the leaves. Back stitch for the stem and closed french knots, satin stitch  for the acorns.

saree

Do you know which is the most difficult part in embroidery??? it is transferring the design on to the fabric..atleast for me...i hate that part...and it makes me crazy when i have to trace the designs on to a longer material like 5.6m saree....usually i trace the designs.....

Do you have any suggestions to trace the difficult small designs???

see the perfect diamond squares...dont know when i will start tracing this design....

I am planning to do running stitch to the three lines ...first and the third using yellow and the middle one using grey..then i will fill the diamonds using grey....the saree is dark maroon...
the saree is more darker than it appears on the photo....

Blanket stitch

The beauty of blanket stitch when it is done on a white towel....
